Founded in 1968 by Terry “Duffy” Sweeney and Bill Thompson as a live sound and staging company, Brighton Sound was destined for greatness. In my humble opinion, Thompson is one of the best audio engineers in the world and he was on our side. Thompson later went on to create and operate Ashly Audio which very quickly became known for their groundbreaking Pro Audio equipment which is now nationally recognized as such and still operational on Holt Road in Webster, NY.

Moving into the early 1990’s, business was booming, we had a team of 20+ Audio Engineers, Technicians, Laborers, and Administrators including Gary “Bo” Kaluza who had been a major contributor since the early 70’s. In 1993, Gary took over as the President of Brighton Sound as we were entering a new era. The age of “Installed Sound” was upon us and we were determined to continue to be the best. Gary really brought the “Client Comes First” mentality to life and instilled it in all of his team members as we grew bigger, obtained larger contracts, more clients, and more of a reputation as the authority for Pro Audio in Rochester and all of Upstate, NY.

Working mostly with Houses of Worship, School Districts, State and Government-Affiliated Organizations, as well as many other Educational and Not-For-Profit Organizations to help bring their establishments to life with sound systems that had never been seen in places like this before.

Always putting the client first, Gary grew Brighton Sound to have a client database of over 6,000 organizations, 500+ service contracts in effect at all times, and throughout the course of his career Brighton Sound completed over 17,000 jobs for our clients who mean so much to us. Gary brought his son, Joseph into Brighton Sound as well – It meant so much to him that he wanted to pass his legacy on to family and to those he could trust to take care of all of his clients as well as bring Brighton Sound into the internet-era.


Today, in 2020, we have done just that. We still service all of the same clients for whom we did installations for many years ago. We are still focused on designing custom sound systems for Houses of Worship, Educational Systems, and Town, City, County, as well as State Organizations. We also have a much larger emphasis on our rental business, which has really grown over the years. We specialize in easy-to-use, professional-grade, portable sound systems for Weddings, Corporate Events, Graduation Parties, Public Address Events, Etc. Any event you have, we can design an easy-to-use system for. We also have a state-of-the-art repair department focused on speaker repair, amplifiers, mixers, digital signal processors, powered speakers, and so much more.

In addition to our Board of Directors, technicians, engineers, rental and repair department employees, as well as office workers we have two officers and stockholders, Joseph Kaluza, President and Steven Siracusa, Vice President. We have more of a focus than ever on customer service and live by the exact same values, principals, and morals which our predecessors did dating all the way back to 1968. We are incredibly proud to celebrate 52 years of excellence in this industry. We are doing what we love and hope to have the opportunity to continue doing it for another 50+ years! Steven Siracusa is the current Vice President & Secretary of the Board of Directors of Brighton Sound, managing the operations and finances of the company. He has a long history of holding executive-management or ownership positions within technology-related companies over the last 15 years. Most recently as a Regional Manager for an AT&T Authorized Retailer and CEO of a local Smartphone/Electronics Repair company.

Steven has had a passion for music and audio since childhood and as a 30-year family-friend of Gary and Joseph Kaluza (President, Brighton Sound), shares the same views on outstanding customer service being the #1 way to bring success to a business as well as happiness to your clients. He was given this opportunity in 2018 and along with his business partner, Joe Kaluza, is breathing new life into Brighton Sound by means of technology which has never in the past been used by the corporation.
